It’s still very early days in Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United managerial tenure, but this hasn’t stopped speculation about his future at the club arising just four Premier League games into the season.
It was a very promising beginning for Mourinho which saw him win his opening three Premier League games, however this has soured with a defeat against title rivals Manchester City to last Saturday in the Premier League followed by a Europa League loss against Dutch side Feyenoord.
These consecutive defeats have seen bookmakers slice Mourinho’s odds of being sacked from 25/1 down to 12/1. I has also been reported by Manchester Evening news that United will drop from second to third favourites to win the Premier league title if Chelsea win their game against Liverpool tonight.
One statistic that has arisen following his defeats against City and Feyenoord for Mourinho is that he has lost 13 of his last 31 games as a manager. The stat makes use of the poor run of results for Mourinho in the second season of his second spell managing Chelsea which saw him heading out of the Stamford Bridge exit door for a second time.
Mourinho will be aiming to return to winning ways in United away game fixture against Watford on Sunday.
