Recent transfer speculations has suggested that Chelsea may launch a swoop for Bournemouth attacker Callum Wilson during the January transfer window.
The Cherries are currently flying high in the Premier League in sixth position with 20 points after 12 games and Wilson has been on song as he has gone on to find the back of the net six times so far this season.
Off course, Eddie Howe’s men will be very hesitant to part ways with their star striker in January, especially as they could be in the running for European football this season.
However, the Cherries should seriously consider a sale. Realistically, it is unlikely that Wilson will remain at the Vitality Stadium for the long-term if he manages to keep up his current level of form. Like all players, he will have ambitions of winning the Premier League and appearing in the Champions League, to achieve this, he will have to leave Bournemouth.
The club must prepare themselves to lose him sooner rather than later and when they lose him, they should command a high fee. Another player who the Cherries are bound to lose is star defender Nathan Ake. Ake has been phenomenal and the 23-year-old is also another who is bound to leave the club in the near-future.
If Chelsea come knocking on the door for Wilson, then the Cherries should consider a deal as long as Gary Cahill will be part of any deal that will see the former join the west London club.
Cahill is clearly not part of Chelsea’s long-term vision as can be seen by his lack of game-time this season. The former England international may be past his prime but he still has a lot to offer at the highest level and could be an apt replacement for Ake.
