Despite their 3-1 defeat against Tottenham in the Premier League last weekend, Chelsea has so far defied the pre-season expectations of many.
The defeat to Spurs marked their first competitive defeat of the season and up to that point, they had been the only undefeated team in all competitions from any of Europe’s top five Leagues.
While the Blues have so far played a decent brand of football, one man who has had misfortune is Victor Moses.
Whilst Antonio Conte was manager of the Stamford Bridge outfit, Moses was a key player for the side and he went on to make 34 Premier League appearances during the victorious 2016-17 campaign.
So far this season, Moses has only made two appearances in the League and he will be surplus to requirements for as long as Maurizio Sarri is manager of the club as he does not seem to fit into the 4-3-3 system which is being utilized by the Italian tactician.
At 27-years-old, Moses is now at the peak of his career. The Blues must look to offload him in January as it is a decision which will benefit both the club and player.
The Nigerian will easily be a first-team regular for nearly all Premier League sides outside the top six. They could use the funds to fund the purchase of a new striker in January. The strike department of the club has been one of the weak points for the side with neither Alvaro Morata nor Olivier Giroud being prolific goal scorers.
