Newcastle boss Benitez issues challenge to players

Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez has insisted that every game that his club will play from now till the end of the season will be like a cup final.
The Magpies endured a terrible start to this season and only claimed their first League victory during their 11th top-flight fixture this term against Watford earlier in November.
The Magpies have since had a revival and have now won their past three consecutive games following their 2-1 victory over Burnley on Monday night.
The Toon Army’s improved performances have seen them rise to 13th place on the League standings with 12 points from 13 games.
Fans of the Magpies will certainly be excited about their upcoming fixtures. Their first five fixtures of December will see them come up against West Ham, Everton, Wolves, Huddersfield and Fulham before they take on Liverpool on Boxing day.
Off course, these will not be easy as are all games in the English top-flights. However, they are all games in which the Magpies can realistically aim to get three points from. If they make the most of the upcoming games which is a golden opportunity to score points, they could be well clear of the relegation zone by the time the new year arrives.
They will be expected to lose the fixture against Liverpool but considering that Premier League football is unpredictable, anything could happen.
Speaking after his sides win against Burnley on Monday, Benitez said as quoted by Goal:
“Every game for us is like a final.
“Winning is massive because it gives us more confidence.
“There is still a long race ahead but we are doing well and hopefully we can continue that.
“We needed to win and to perform well.
“The players did it and were amazing in terms of effort, organisation and team spirit.
“We were working in the week trying to manage Burnley’s two big centre-forwards and the players did really well.
“The main thing for us is to make sure we can get something out of these games.

“We have confidence now and the players will continue pushing and working hard.”
