Aston Villa and Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham has won the Championship player of the month for November.
The youngster bagged six goals from four Championship encounters last month as the Villains continue to recover after having made a poor start to the season.
The form of the on-loan Chelsea man has even led to some Blues fans calling for him to be recalled to Stamford Bridge in January as Olivier Giroud and Alvaro Morata are not prolific goal-scorers.
Dean Smith’s side managed a good return of three wins and one draw last month and they are now considered serious possible candidates for promotion to the Premier League next season.
Abraham managed goals against Derby County and Birmingham City but his most thrilling performance came during the 5-5 draw with Nottingham Forest as he bagged himself four goals. In the process, he became the first Villa player to score four goals in a game since the start of the 21st century.
At the time of writing, Abraham is joint-third on the Championship top-scorer rankings along with Teemu Pukki of Norwich City on 11 goals.
The form of the 21-year-old will be vital if Villa are to make a return to the English top-flight next term.
Abraham said as quoted by The Standard.
“I’m delighted to be named player of the month.
“It’s been a great few weeks for us as a team as well as me personally.
“Hopefully we can continue that over a busy Christmas period and beyond.”
