According to the latest rumours, Chelsea are considering selling striker Tammy Abraham. The striker has been seriously in-form in the Championship this season for Aston Villa. He has so far scored 12 goals from 16 appearances for the Villains who are hoping to make a return to the Premier League next season.
Abraham is a promising young striker and is not short of admirers. His performances have reportedly led to the likes of Newcastle United and Crystal Palace becoming interest and bids for him could arrive as early as next month.
Abraham is also a proven scorer at Championship level. He spent the 2016-17 season on loan with Bristol City and shone as he went on to score 26 goals from 48 appearances in all competitions. The following season, he got a well-deserved break in the Premier League as the Blues opted to send him on loan to Swansea City. However, this stint was less than successful as he went on to score just eight goals from 39 appearances.
Chelsea meanwhile are experiencing a crisis up-front this season with both Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud unable to find the back of the net on a regular basis. Abraham is not yet ready to lead the line for his boyhood club on a regular basis but the Blues may make a critical mistake if they do sell him.
Abraham has the potential to become one of the best forwards in England in the future and the Blues must give him an opportunity to lead the line for them before they sell him. Perhaps, they should ship him out on loan to one of the top five Leagues next season and then gauge his progress before deciding whether they would like to keep him.
Even though he was not successful in the top-flight last season, he has shown remarkable growth and maturity this season.
