According to a report published by The Sun, Arsenal are one of the sides that could sign Isco from Real Madrid during the January transfer window. The Gunners will however have to compete against Manchester City and Chelsea for the services of the dynamic Spaniard.
It looks increasingly likely that Los Blancos will be open to listening to offers for the services of Isco next month. The player does now seem like he is surplus to requirements at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Unai Emery’s side need to sign a dynamic playmaker as soon as possible. Aaron Ramsey is set to leave the Emirates Stadium at the end of the season. Mesut Ozil is no longer the dynamic player that he once was ever since his disastrous 2018 World Cup campaign with Germany. The 2014 World Cup Champions were terrible in Russia and were eliminated during the group stages.
Ozil was one of the players singled out for criticism and he ended up retiring from international football following the bad displays of the Germans.
Ozil has blown hot and cold for Arsenal this season and has been left out of the side by Emery during recent weeks. 2018 has clearly not been a good year of Ozil and it may be best for the club to focus on moving him on at the end of the season.
He appears to have lost his motivation towards the game and perhaps it may be best for him to move onto a less demanding League such as the Chinese Super League or the MLS.
Signing Isco would surely help Emery as he looks to develop the Gunners into a side which can challenge for the Premier League. It would also likely signal the end of Ozil’s time at the Emirates.
