Two goalkeepers that Leeds United should look to sign this January

Leeds United have been flying high in the Championship this season under the guidance of Marcelo Biesla. The Whites have a good chance to win promotion to the Premier League for the first time since 2004.

With the young Jamal Blackman injured, first-choice Bailley Peacock-Farrell does not have cover. Leeds surely need a new goalkeeper to provide competition and cover to Peacock-Farrell.

Below are two goalkeepers whom they should sign who would be useful additions to the promotion chasers:

Karl Darlow (Newcastle United)

Darlow has slipped down the pecking order at Newcastle after Martin Dubravka arrived at the Magpies last January and made the first-choice goalkeeping position at the club his own. Darlow is good with the ball at his feet and at 28-years-old, he has plenty of experience under his belt.

Darlow is clearly surplus to requirements under Rafael Benitez and currently, he has only made one appearance to date which came in the EFL Cup.

Tom Heaton (Burnley)

Prior to his unfortunate injury last season, Heaton was considered as one of the best English keepers around and used to win national team call-ups. Unfortunately for him, Nick Pope ended up doing a sterling job while deputizing for him last season and made the first-choice position his own.

It just so happened that both Heaton and Pope were injured prior to the start of this season and this resulted in manager Sean Dyche having to rope in former Manchester City keeper Joe Hart who has since become the first-choice keeper for the Cherries.

Securing the services of Heaton would be a major boost for Biesla. He has brilliant awareness and would be able to potentially win games for the club.
