Leeds United centre-back Paudie O’Connor has joined Bradford City on loan in a deal which will run till the end of the season as reported by Braford’s official website.
The 21-year-old O’Connor spent the first-half of the campaign on loan with League One side Blackpool and went on to make 17 appearances before the Whites decided to exercise their recall option this month.
Joining Bradford will provide O’Connor with a challenge. The Bantams are currently struggling to avoid relegation from the third-tier of English football and are just five points above AFC Wimbledon who are last on the standings.
They have however won four out of five of their last matches and this will give the club renewed hope that they can rise up the standings during the coming weeks.
O’Connor will need to use whatever opportunities he gets to grow as a player and try and impress the Whites hierarchy.
Leeds meanwhile are currently on top of the Championship standings and are in line to win promotion to the Premier League for the first time since 2004. The Yorkshire giants however have not been in the best of form during recent weeks.
They recently experienced defeats at the hands of Hull City and Nottingham Forest and were also kicked out of the FA Cup by Queens Park Rangers last weekend.
Biesla must look to bring in a few in-form players this month to bolster his side. Signing an experienced goalkeeper should be a priority at this point as Bailey Peacock-Farrell has proven to be injury-prone.
