Newcastle star speaks out on the club’s current situation

Newcastle United star Ayoze Perez has admitted that the form of his club during recent times has been “strange” as reported by Sky Sports.
The Magpies have so far just won two of their home games this season. The Toon Army are expected to once battle against relegation. They are currently in 15th position on the League standings and are just two points clear of the drop zone.
Perez has been a key player for the Magpies since arriving at the club from Tenerife back in 2014. However, the forward has also been the subject of criticism this season due to his performances.
It now looks like Rafa Benitez’s men are set to endure yet another season off frustration. They should look into making a new additions to the squad this month in order to boost their chances of avoiding the drop.
Perez said:
“I don’t know exactly, but it is a strange thing. You can’t struggle as much as we are in home games. That means something is wrong.

“It is strange because there is no consistency. Sometimes it is individual performances, sometimes it’s not like that and it’s team performance.

“It can’t be individual every time as we have changed players and rotated. I think there is a piece of the jigsaw that is missing.

“It is holding us back and it’s why we are struggling. We’ve won twice at home and that’s just not acceptable. It’s not good enough so something should change.”
Meanwhile Benitez’s contract at St James Park is set to expire at the end of the season and he has yet to agree to an extension. Benitez is one of the most respected managers in world football and would easily be able to attract offers from some of the best team’s in world football. It is likely that he will only stay put at St James Park if the club is able to provide him with an improved transfer budget.
