Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has highlighted that he does not expect any signings during the ongoing transfer window after witnessing his team progress to the fourth round of the FA Cup. The north London side strolled past Tranmere Rovers on the road with a comfortable 7-0 triumph where Fernando Llorente scored his second hat-trick for the club.

Speaking after the game, Pochettino stressed that he is pleased with the outlook of the current squad and he does not mind keeping the team unchanged for the rest of the season as they seek to challenge for the Premier League crown, he told BT Sport:

"Difficult. I don’t believe that we are going to do anything. I’m so happy with my squad. Always you can improve, different things you can or not."

The Tottenham faithful were unimpressed with the activity from the club during the summer where they became the sole from Europe’s top-five leagues to resist the option of spending in the transfer market. However, the move has not had any effect on the performance of the team and barring the shock defeat to Wolves, the team have generally cruised over the past month where they have managed to stay alive across all four competitions.

Spurs are currently six points behind league leaders Liverpool after 21 games into the campaign but they have a potentially tricky game against Manchester United next weekend, given the latter have found some renewed energy with the arrival of caretaker boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at the helm.

Before that, however, they have a London derby against Chelsea to contend in the League Cup semi-final first leg in midweek and the home game offers them the chance to secure the early advantage to reach the summit of the competition next month.
