‘Genuine world class’: Some Liverpool fans rave about 27-year-old’s display against Watford

A section of the Liverpool fans expressed their delight over the performance of Virgil van Dijk against Watford.

The Netherlands international has been a fantastic signing for the Reds since his transfer 13 months ago, and he produced another standout performance last night, where his side secured a comfortable 5-0 triumph over the Hornets.

Whilst the 27-year-old helped the team keep their 16th clean sheet of the campaign, some supporters were particularly impressed with his goalscoring, after he popped up with a late headed brace to complete the rout over Javi Gracia’s side.

Van Dijk has experienced a couple of shaky performances at the back this term, but he has managed to overshadow them with the consistency with which he has restricted the opposition from scoring.

This has helped Liverpool to make Anfield a fortress in the Premier League, and they are yet to suffer a defeat in the 21 matches since the Dutchman made his debut for the club.

With the win, Liverpool hold onto their slender one-point lead over Manchester City at the top of the standings.

Next up for the Reds is a tricky Merseyside derby at Everton, and nothing less than three points will do for Klopp’s men.
