A section of the Manchester United fans praised the showing of Ander Herrera following the club’s 2-0 FA Cup triumph over Chelsea in the FA Cup fifth round.
The home side started as the stronger team during the opening half an hour of the game, but United were the ones to find the breakthrough in the 31st minute.
Herrera got on the right end of a sublime cross from Paul Pogba to open the scoresheet and thereafter, the latter doubled the scores with a close-range diving header.
In the second period, Maurizio Sarri’s side tried their best to get back into the game, but they lacked the cutting edge in the final third to outwit Sergio Romero between the sticks.
Following the Cup tie, a number of United fans were impressed with the recent improvement of Herrera under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and urged the hierarchy to push through a new contract at the earliest possibility.
Here are some of the tweets;

Herrera has cemented his position in the midfield three under Ole and he has been offered the added freedom to roam forward with a number of long range shots attempted.
Nonetheless, his prime duties remain in the centre of the park where he has been equally effective with crucial interceptions and his performances over the past two months certainly warrant a renewal with a wage hike.
Herrera’s current deal with the club expires at the end of the campaign but talks are underway over a new long-term contract. The Spaniard is fast approaching 200 appearances for Manchester United across all competitions.
