Harry Kane provides fresh injury update with rehabilitation pictures on social media

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has posted pictures of his rehabilitation process following the ankle injury sustained in the Premier League defeat to Manchester United last month. Spurs had previously indicated that the England international could return to first-team action by mid-March but it appears that he could make an earlier appearance after beginning strength training on his injured ankle in the United States.

Kane has been out of action for the north London side for nearly three weeks and during this period, they have been hampered significantly with their elimination from both the League and FA Cup. Still, this has not affected their league form with Fernando Llorente among others making valuable contributions over the past couple of matches.
No exact return date has been mentioned for Kane’s return but according to The Sun, the England captain could make an earlier return than initially predicted which could put him in contention for the cross-town derby against Arsenal at the beginning of March. Spurs are currently third in the Premier League table and they hold a seven-point gap over the Gunners, who are currently in a three-way tussle with Chelsea and Manchester United for the final Champions League qualification spot.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side hold a deficit of the same margin when compared to league leaders Liverpool at the top but their title prospects appear slim unless they can go on a winning run for the remainder of the season. Spurs are scheduled to face Rafael Benitez’s Newcastle United in tomorrow’s early Premier League kick-off and they may need to be wary after the Magpies’ shock win over Manchester City in midweek.
