Liverpool head to Old Trafford on Sunday to take on Manchester United in the Premier League, and nothing less than a win will do for Jürgen Klopp’s men.
The Reds are aware that a win against an improved United side would put them back to the top of the Premier League table ahead of Manchester City, who don’t have a league game this weekend due to their Carabao Cup final clash with Chelsea.
Man United defender Ashley Young has warned that his side have ‘another gear’, and it remains to be seen whether or not Liverpool will use those words as a motivation on Sunday.
For Mohamed Salah perhaps, Young’s words could be seen as great motivation. The Red Devils are the only side in the Premier League the Egyptian forward has faced more than once and not chalked up either a goal or an assist.
The 26-year-old will be vital to Liverpool’s hopes of leaving Old Trafford with a win, and he will be desperate to add to his tally of 17 Premier League goals scored so far this season.
Perhaps the most important change from Tuesday’s clash with Bayern Munich will be the return of Virgil van Dijk, and Klopp will be delighted to have the Dutchman back.
The German could also opt to bring James Milner back into the fold, due to his experience of playing huge games in the past against United.
Here is our predicted Liverpool line-up for Sunday’s clash with Manchester United:
Goalkeeper: Alisson
Defense: Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joel Matip, Virgil van Dijk, Andrew Robertson
Midfielders: Georginio Wijnaldum, Naby Keita, James Milner
Forwards: Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah
