Report: Brendan Rodgers wants to bring alleged £25m Arsenal target to Leicester

Kieran Tierney could team up with Brendan Rodgers at Leicester in the summer, according to the Scottish Sun, with the Foxes current left-back Ben Chilwell being linked with a move to Manchester City.

If the 22-year-old were to leave the King Power Stadium, Rodgers would immediately turn his focus to Hoops ace Tierney.

However, Rodgers and his new side will likely face keen competition from Arsenal, who the Scottish Sun report are eyeing a £25million move for the Scotland international to solve their left-back issue and it will likely take a huge offer to prise the defender away from Celtic Park.

Tierney, however, has not displayed any desire to leave the team he loves and has supported since boyhood. His current contract with Celtic runs until the summer of 2023.

The Scot, since registering his debut under Ronny Deila, saw his stock rise rapidly under Rodgers’ tenure and has already notched up more than 160 appearances.

Tierney would be an excellent signing for Leicester, but whether he feels that a move to the east Midlands outfit from Celtic would be beneficial to his career remains to be seen.

He is in line to start for the Hoops against Hearts in tonight’s Scottish Premiership clash at Tynecastle, with Neil Lennon set to be in charge of the Glasgow giants.

And Rodgers will surely be keeping a close eye on proceedings.
