A few Everton fans have been left unimpressed after Idrissa Gueye talked up the prospect of leaving the club at the end of the campaign. The Senegal international was desperate to leave the Toffees during the winter transfer window amid the approach from Paris Saint-Germain but the club stayed firm with their ambition of keeping hold of his services.
The midfielder has since returned to normalcy with back-to-back league appearances against Manchester City and Watford but that does not seem to have seized his disappointment of missing out on a dream move to Parc des Princes.
In a recent exclusive with L’Equipe, the 29-year-old has admitted that he still harbours the ambition of playing for an elite European club in the Champions League and remains hopeful of doing the same with Les Parisiens, should they return for him during the summer.
This interview has certainly not gone well with a section of the Toffees supporters, who have expressed their anger on Twitter while urging the club to part ways with the midfielder when the season concludes.
Here are some of the tweets;

At the age of 29, Gueye was no doubt excited by the prospect of joining one of Europe’s most successful clubs but given the approach was made during the closing stages of the winter transfer window, the Toffees may not have found sufficient time to pursue a replacement.
Nonetheless, coming with such an open statement in February itself suggests that the midfielder has already made his mind up for a fresh challenge and he could push through his desired move when the transfer window reopens.
