Sigurdsson and Richarlison start, Strongest Predicted Everton lineup (4-2-3-1) to face Watford

Everton have the opportunity to cease their winless streak when they make the Premier League trip to Watford on Saturday. The Toffees suffered a disappointing 3-1 defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers during the previous weekend and they could not make amends for the same against Manchester City in the midweek preponed game where they lost 2-0. Still, there was plenty of fight shown by the players, who managed to withstand the Citizens’ pressure barring the final seconds of either half.

Formation: 4-2-3-1
Predicted Lineup:

Jordan Pickford has been the undisputed pick for the league duties and he should feature in goal. The England international has kept a single shutout in his last 15 matches and he will be hoping for better organisation of the backline ahead of him this weekend.

In the defence, Kurt Zouma and Michael Keane should retain their positions in the central defensive roles with Yerry Mina likely to require a late fitness test to decide upon his inclusion in the matchday squad.  At right-back, Jonjoe Kenny should continue ahead of Seamus Coleman after putting in a decent shift against the Citizens while Lucas Digne should slot into the left side of the Toffees backline.

Further forward, Andre Gomes and Idrissa Gueye should once more retain their roles at the heart of the midfield and the latter’s importance was quite evident against the Citizens where he made meaningful interceptions. Ahead of them, Gylfi Sigurdsson should feature in the attacking midfield role ahead of Tom Davies and he will be aiming to produce a strong performance after squandering a penalty kick during the reverse meeting against the Hornets.

In the attack, Ademola Lookman should return to the fray ahead of Theo Walcott, who could not impact the play in the opposition box despite being in advanced positions on many occasions. Lookman should feature on the right wing with Richarlison making his comeback on the left flank while Cenk Tosun could be handed the frontline duties.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin was handed the striker’s role against the Citizens but he could find much success in terms of finding the breakthrough. Tosun has likewise struggled for goals this term but the Turk could be offered another chance to break his Premier League scoring drought which has extended to more than three months.

Predicted Lineup (4-2-3-1): Jordan Pickford, Jonjoe Kenny, Kurt Zouma, Michael Keane, Lucas Digne, Idrissa Gueye, Andre Gomes, Ademola Lookman, Gylfi Sigurdsson, Richarlison, Cenk Tosun
