‘Absolute liability’: Some West Ham fans slate 30-year-old’s display vs Everton

West Ham United played host to Everton at London Stadium on Saturday evening in what was a frustrating and embarrassing evening for the home side.

A win could have seen the club end the weekend in seventh spot in the table, with Wolverhampton Wanderers losing at Turf Moor against Burnley and Watford having been beaten by Manchester United.

West Ham would have gone into the game in high spirits, having beaten Huddersfield Town last time out, and with the chance to jump inside the top seven.

However, the Hammers hopes failed to materialise, as they suffered a 2-0 defeat against Everton, and they were second best for the entire game.

The win for Everton saw them climb into the top half of the Premier League table, and they now sit just a point behind seventh-placed Wolves, with the Hammers now in 11th place.

Lucas Perez was handed a chance to make a big impression as the Hammers looked to get the better of the visitors, but the Spaniard failed to prove his worth.

Perez has made 11 Premier League appearances for West Ham this season and has only netted two goals.

The 30-year-old’s performance today left many West Ham fans confused as to why he’s labelled a top notch striker, and if he is sold this summer, there will not be too many fans upset.
