Some sections of Liverpool fans were unimpressed with Divock Origi’s performance during yesterday’s Merseyside derby against Everton in the Premier League.
The Belgium international started for the second league game on the bounce, despite Roberto Firmino returning from an ankle injury, but his performance was far from impressive.
In the 63 minutes he played, Origi managed just one shot, which was off-target, whist he accumulated just 30 touches with a poor passing accuracy of 64.3%, according to whoscored.
Here are some of the reactions on Twitter:
Origi ahead of Keita and Shaqiri on away game is absolute madness

All on Klopp if Liverpool don’t win the league from here imo, imagine being so naive to play Origi over Firmino away at Everton in a pivotal match. Fraud.

Or Keita. Lallana isn’t the answer and Origi starting isn’t the answer either. Klopp is great, perfect for us, but questionable decisions last few games.

Firmino already has more attacking contributions in this game than Origi did in an hour. #eveliv

Origi is not for a starter. #LFC

Origi is looking a little slow… need a little more drive going forward

Origi was not the sole disappointment in the Reds attack with Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino, who came off the bench to replace the Belgian, struggling to find the cutting edge upfront.
With the 0-0 stalemate, the Reds find themselves one point behind Manchester City at the top of the table, and their pursuit of the title is now dependent on the Citizens making a mistake going forward.
Meanwhile, Jurgen Klopp will have to sort out the club’s form in the Premier League, given the fact that they have recently been in a frustrating run that has seen them draw four games in their last six outings.
