There is a bad news for Aston Villa, with the Daily Mail reporting that Tammy Abraham has suffered a setback in his recovery from a calf injury.
The England U21 international missed England’s U21 draw with Poland U21’s on Thursday in Bristol, and it has now been decided that he will not be fit to face Germany on Tuesday
Whilst Jonathan Kodjia might be primed to replace Abraham, the Ivorian’s prowess might not be enough to earn Villa all three points against the stubborn Lancashire side.
The 21-year-old has scored 21 goals in the Championship this season, and he will be a big loss if he misses out against Rovers.
He was subbed off in the 3-0 win against Middlesbrough as a result of the injury, with the hope of him getting fit to play against Germany. However, his latest setback meant he was withdrawn from the squad.
This will be a big blow for Dean Smith, as his side prepare to play host to Blackburn Rovers on Saturday, where a win will see the Villans leapfrog Middlesbrough into fifth place.
The Midlands outfit are currently in the midst of a fine run of form, having recorded four consecutive league wins.
They will be taking on Blackburn who are in 17th place in the table, and while the outcome of the encounter cannot be predicted, Aston Villa are favourites to earn all three points.
