European giants want to sign £150k-a-week Liverpool ace

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane is keen on signing Liverpool forward Sadio Mane as part of his team overhaul this summer.

The report is according to Arnaud Tulipier of France Football who reckons Zidane tried to lure the Senegalese to Santiago Bernabeu last summer, but that transfer subsequently failed to materialise as he left his role as Los Blancos manager.

Having been re-appointed as Real Madrid manager, it’s believed the Frenchman’s move to sign Mane is back on, while a move could reportedly happen this summer.

Zidane’s interest in Mane is quite understandable as the player as been in brilliant form for Liverpool this season, having found the back of the net with 20 goals in 38 appearances in all competitions.

Mane is an integral part of Jurgen Klopp’s attacking unit, and he has arguably been Liverpool’s best player this season.

The former Southampton man signed a new five-year deal with Liverpool last November, committing his future to the club until 2023, and he earns around £150,000 a week according to Ed Aarons of The Guardian.

Real Madrid have endured a woeful campaign thus far. The reigning European champions have been dumped out of the Champions League and the Copa del Rey.

They also sit 12 points adrift of league leaders Barcelona.

All that said, the club’s saving grace this summer will be a squad overhaul and it seems the Liverpool forward is part of their plan to return to the top of the European game.
