Some Everton fans have expressed their pleasure over the performance of Michael Keane in the Merseyside Derby.
The England international has experienced a mixed run of form with the Toffees this term, but he came up with his best showing in the goalless draw against Liverpool yesterday.
Keane was a strong presence alongside Kurt Zouma at the heart of Everton’s defence throughout the entire 90 minutes, but the supporters were particularly keen to praise the 26-year-old for the last-ditch challenge on Mohamed Salah when the Egyptian was clear on goal in the 57th minute.
Here are some of the reactions on Twitter:

? Atmosphere best it’s been in a long time
? Michael Keane may of just played his best game in an Everton shirt
? Played without fear that second half
Wanted a win, but much worse things than a nil nil draw could’ve happened, COYB

The former Burnley man has produced a number of shaky performances since joining the Toffees, and this has seen him slip out of contention for a regular role with the England national side.
Regardless of this, he has recently shown a return to form, and the standout performance against Liverpool may rekindle his national team prospects, given the fat that Gareth Southgate was present in the stands to watch him.
With the stalemate, Everton are tenth in the league standings, six points behind the seventh position, which could assure a route to the Europa League qualification phase next term.
