Jurgen Klopp has bad news for Liverpool fans ahead of Bayern Munich clash

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that the club will be without the services of Naby Keita for tonight’s Champions League round of 16 clash against Bayern Munich on the road.

The Guinea international made a substitute appearance during the Reds’ 4-2 win over Burnley at the weekend, but he has not been able to travel for the crunch game at the Allianz Arena.

In a report covered by the club’s official website, Klopp confirmed that Keita picked up a ‘slight injury’ which has ruled him out from making a return to familiar surroundings in Germany.

Meanwhile, Klopp remained optimistic regarding the involvement of Trent Alexander-Arnold, who managed to return to training after recovering from the minor back problem sustained against Burnley.

“It looks good. He had a bit of a problem obviously but it should not be a major concern,” he said.

Keita has struggled to live up to expectations since arriving at Liverpool, but the Bayern game on the road could have offered him with the platform to excel, given the familiarity with the opposition.

In his absence, Adam Lallana could benefit from game-time at the Allianz Arena, though it remains to be seen whether the Englishman will feature from the off after a good showing against Burnley at the weekend.
