Hull City manager Nigel Adkins has praised in-form winger Jarrod Bowen, and believes the winger is more than a ‘one season wonder’ after another prolific campaign.
Bowen has netted 18 goals in 35 appearances this season, three goals more than he scored for Hull City during the entirety of last season.
If he should continue his brilliant form for the Tigers over their next few matches, the Humberside outfit could make a late surge for the play-offs places.
Adkins was full of praise for the in-form winger, as per his quotes via Hull Live:
“We want a young player to score as many goals as possible. If Jarrod can back up what he scored last season, close to 20 goals, then it’s a young man who’s not just a one season wonder”
“He said it the other day that he didn’t want to be seen that way so he’s backed it up this season with a run of goals. Fraizer (Campbell) is another one. He’s got 11 goals, can he go and get 15? We want all the players to do well. We want them to have success collectively and individually.”
And speaking on whether supporters could expect more to come from the winger, the 53-year-old manager was very optimistic about the 22-year-old’s incredible form.
He said:
“Jarrod has been in really good form. Maybe at this moment in time he’s not getting quite as much of the ball because a lot of it has been going down our left side with Kamil. Both of them have been really good for us.”
Next up in line for Hull City is a trip to the City Ground to take on Nottingham Forest on Saturday afternoon, and nothing less than a win will do, if they harbour true ambitions of finishing inside the top six this season.
