Report: Everton lining up summer swoop for World Cup winner

Everton are reportedly looking to sign long-term Liverpool target Nabil Fekir when the window reopens in the summer.

According to a report from Italian publication Calcio Mercato, the Toffees are considering a move for the World Cup winner who was a target for their Merseyside rivals last season.

Fekir was very close to joining Liverpool last summer in a £50million switch only for the Reds to back-off at the very last minute.

Fekir registered 40 appearances in all outings last season, and the 20-cap France international netted 23 goals with eight assists.

This season, however, the Frenchman has racked up 12 goals and seven assists in 30 appearances with three of this goals scored in the Champions League – something that shows how good the player is.

The signing of Fekir would be an ideal move for Everton considering how their players have been under-performing upfront so far this season.

The Toffees need a complete overhaul in the attacking department, and Fekir really would be an excellent addition for Marco Silva’s side, although he will certainly not come cheap.
