According to a report from The Sun on Sunday (24/03, page 59), Premier League side Everton are the latest top flight team to show interest in signing Birmingham City star Che Adams.
The 22-year-old has been one of the standout performers in the Championship this season, with 21 goals and four assists in 37 league appearances to his name.
Birmingham City were recently hit with a nine-point deduction which has dented the club’s hopes of securing Premier League promotion at the end of the season, and this might also see the sale of some of their players in order to gain some financial stability.
Arsenal and Manchester United, according to a report from the Mirror earlier in the season, were said to be interested in signing Adams, but the latest reports making rounds are linking Marco Silva’s side to the Birmingham City man.
The report from The Sun on Sunday (24/3; page 59) also claims Everton sent their top scout to watch Adams in action for his side last week as they plot a summer bid for the Birmingham City forward.
And having turned down a bid in excess of £12million from Burnley in January, failure to secure Premier League promotion this season could see them lose their £15million-rated forward in the summer.
If the Toffees can win the race for his signature, he could be the perfect replacement for Cenk Tosun – a complete striker the club have been crying out for since the sale of Romelu Lukaku to Manchester United.
