Report: Liverpool are still interested in signing £34 million-rated long-term Klopp target

Liverpool are once again being linked with a familiar name ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window, with Piotr Zielinski thought to be on their radar.

According to Italian news outlet Calciomercato, Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is ‘insistent’ on signing the Napoli midfielder, despite the player only signing a contract extension recently.

Liverpool wanted to sign the Polish striker from Udinese before he joined Napoli, but missed out on a deal, and Italian media are reporting the German boss still has a firm interest in the player.

The 24-year-old, who is rated at £34million by Transfermarkt, has scored six goals for the Italian side this season and is yet to have an assist to his name.

Maurizio Sarri, who managed the Polish ace during his time in charge of Napoli, rates the player very highly, and even suggested Zielinski plays like Manchester City’s Kevin de Bruyne, which really show hows good the midfielder is.

Liverpool are still in need of a new midfielder who is quick, energetic, hard-working, and tactically versatile, and Zielinskicould be just the ticket for Klopp.
