Report: Liverpool ready to axe £90k-a-week ace, £30m price-tag mooted

An exclusive report from Football Insider is claiming that Liverpool would be willing to “cash in” on centre-back Dejan Lovren as they plan on reshaping the core of their team in the summer.

A price-tag of £30million has been placed on the Croatian centre-back, who featured for his country throughout the World Cup in Russia as Croatia reached the final.

After a five-year stint with Liverpool, the centre-back has been linked with a move away from Anfield this summer, with the likes of Napoli, AC Milan and AS Roma said to be vying for his signature.

Lovren suffered a muscle injury early in February, and since then he is yet to start a game for Liverpool, with Joel Matip moving ahead of him in the pecking order.

Things could get worse for Lovren, with Joe Gomez closing in on a return to full fitness.

And now Liverpool could be willing to show him the exit door in the summer, but that would only happen if one of his suitors are ready to meet the club’s £30million price-tag.
