Zinedine Zidane is on the verge of being re-appointed the new Real Madrid manager with Santiago Solari’s exit likely to be announced tonight, according to Spanish football expert Guillem Balague.
Zidane, who won the Champions League title with Real Madrid three time in a row, wants to make Tottenham Hotspur star Christian Eriksen one of his star summer signings, according to Balague.
The journalist also went further saying the French tactician has been given the go-ahead to bring the player of his choice to Santiago Bernabeu, with Chelsea ace Eden Hazard being touted as a potential new arrival.
Balague explained:
“Zinedine Zidane could be named as new Madrid manager today. Zidane also wants the likes of Hazard and perhaps even Eriksen to the side. He will get given all the sporting authority and all the things that he suggested last summer that Florentino Perez didn’t want to do, most of them will be done now.”
Eriksen has proven to be one of the outstanding creative players not only for Tottenham, but across Europe, and it remains to be seen where the 27-year-old will be plying his trade next season.
Should Madrid come in with a substantial offer for his services, however, Spurs will surely be tempted to cash in on the Dane, considering the fact that his contract expires in the summer of 2020.
