Some Liverpool supporters hailed the performance of Sadio Mane during the second leg of the Champions League round of 16 against Bayern Munich.
The Reds went into the game following a 0-0 draw at Anfield, but they took the early advantage in the 26th minute after Mane managed to outsmart Manuel Neuer with a sublime skill before dinking the ball into the far corner of the net.
Thereafter, Bayern were able to find a route into the game with a fortuitous Joel Matip own goal before the break, but that did not deter Jurgen Klopp’s side, who eventually came up with a comfortable 3-1 triumph.
Virgil van Dijk continued his recent run of scoring form with the second strike in the 69th minute and towards the end, Mane completed the rout with an impressive diving header following a sublime cross from Mohamed Salah into the box.
Following the match, a section of the Reds faithful were truly delighted with Mane’s showing….

Sadio Mané is ridiculously underrated. The biggest of big game players. He's carried our forward line since the turn of the year. pic.twitter.com/wV8AiQAxWv

FT: Bayern 1 #LFC 3: Liverpool into the quarter-finals of the Champions League with a stunning triumph at a stunned Allianz Arena. Sadio Mane the hero with a classy double. Van Dijk's header had effectively killed off the tie. That's a top European away performance.

Great away European win even though we could have played better, improved in the second half. Mane incredible. Van Dijk and Matip made Lewandowski look mediocre over both legs, completed dominated him.

How good is Sadio Mane? The man is world class. I won’t hear otherwise anymore.

Mane has been the standout performer for the Reds since the turn of the year with Mohamed Salah witnessing a slight dip in form. The Senegalese has been scoring consistently of late and Wednesday’s brace ensured that he scored for the 10th tie in his last 10 outings in all competitions.
