Everton fans will be delighted by 21-year-old’s display vs Leeds

On Good Friday, Wigan Athletic shocked the Football League when they pulled off a 2-1 win at Elland Road against Leeds with 10 men.

A key part of Wigan’s remarkable win over Leeds was Everton loanee Antonee Robinson, who was excellent at left back.

Toffees supporters will be delighted by the youngster’s progress and superb performance for the Latics, and will hope Robinson can push for a first-team place at Goodison Park in the future.

Wigan entered the match with an abysmal away record, and were fighting against the drop. Leeds, on the other hand, were striving for automatic promotion and appeared set to cement their place inside the top two.

But despite going down to ten men, Wigan fought admirably and secured the three points, with Robinson standing out in defence.

In Louise Taylor’s Guardian post-match report, she praised Robinson for “a masterclass in playing left-back.”

The accolades will be welcome news for Everton supporters, who will be eager to see the United States international come good at Goodison Park.

With more performances like yesterday’s against Leeds, Robinson could become a consistent starter for Everton one day.
