Fulham winger non-committal over future, comments may interest Premier League club

Fulham’s teenage sensation Ryan Sessegnon has been the subject of intense transfer speculation ever since he broke into the first team at Craven Cottage.

Making his first team debut when he was 16 years old, Sessegnon tore up the Championship as an adventurous left-back converted into a predatory winger, eventually launching the Cottagers to promotion via the play-offs last season.

When the Englishman opted to stick with the Whites during his first season in the Premier League, it came as a pleasant surprise to many, showing the loyalty of the Fulham academy product.

But after his club’s disastrous season and relegation to the Championship, Sessegnon may have given his clearest indication yet that he will depart his boyhood club this summer.

His recent ambiguous transfer comments could put the likes of Tottenham Hotspur on red alert, as the north London club have been linked with a big-money move for the 18-year-old.

When asked about his long-term future, the winger did little to dispel rumours of a potential exit.

“I’m still a Fulham player, contracted until 2020,” Sessegnon told Sky Sports. “So I’m still a Fulham player and in terms of that, that’s all I can say at the moment.”

The response will do little to quell the concerns of Fulham supporters and certainly appeared to be those of a player who has one eye on the exit door.

Spurs fans, on the other hand, will be delighted to hear that Sessegnon isn’t tying himself down to his current club, and may hope that their club makes a move in the near future.
