‘Miles off the pace, Abysmal’: Some West Ham fans slam 29-year-old’s display vs Chelsea

A selection of West Ham United supporters have expressed their anger over the performance of Aaron Cresswell during the club’s 2-0 league defeat at the hands of Chelsea on the road last night.

The east London outfit had gone into the game with an impressive record against the Blues, having been unbeaten in the previous three Premier League meetings with two draws and a win.

The hosts, however, were the dominant side this time around, and the match was decided by two moments of brilliance from Eden Hazard, who was the standout performer throughout the derby.

While the Belgian’s opening strike involved a rampaging dribble through the Hammers defence before finding the net, the second was gifted to him by Cresswell, who was found out of position.

Following the game, some sections of Hammers fans were in unforgiving mood, and expressed their frustration over the Englishman’s defending for most of the game, including the mistake which allowed Hazard to finish the game.

Here are some of the tweets;

Cresswell was impressive for West Ham in the attacking point of view against the Blues and he nearly levelled the scores with a belter of an effort shortly after the hour mark of the derby.

Still, he was regularly found out from a defensive perspective by Callum Hudson-Odoi, and his lack of awareness eventually cost the Hammers with Hazard’s second goal.
