Report: Arsenal overtake Tottenham as favourites to sign £50m-rated ace

Tottenham Hotspur have been dealt transfer blow in the race to sign Everton defender Michael Keane this summer.

The North London club’S bitter rivals Arsenal are said to be leading favourites to seal the transfer of the seven-capped England international, if odds from Ladbrokes are anything to go by.

Ladbrokes have priced the Gunners at 7/4 to be Keane’s next club, with Spurs behind them on odds of 3/1.

The bookies’ update comes after the centre-back was linked with both clubs in a recent report from the Daily Mail, which says Everton could part ways with the 26-year-old if they receive offers of around £50million this summer.

Arsenal could do with a player with Keane’s calibre at the heart of defence to replace Shkodran Mustafi who has been inconsistent so far this season.

The same can be said for Tottenham, with Belgian centre-back Toby Alderwiereld facing an uncertain future at the club.

Keane would be a useful addition for both the Gunners and Spurs, but quite where he will be plying his trade next season remains a mystery.
