Report: Everton eye move for 26-year-old PL ace as potential replacement for key man

Everton reportedly have set their sights on Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope as a potential replacement for Jordan Pickford.

According to a report from The Sun, Marco Silva’s side have shown interest in the 26-year-old Clarets stopper, with Pickford facing an uncertain future at Goodison Park.

Pickford has been a key figure at Goodison Park since he joined the club from Sunderland two years ago, but Ken Lawrence of The Sun reckons the goalkeeper “faces a fight for his future with Everton considering flogging the England No 1 for £50million.”

The signing of Nick Pope would likely command nothing less than £10million, if not more, but for the goalkeeper who has recorded 114 Premier League saves so far this season, that would have to be considered as good business for the Toffees.

Whilst Everton will undoubtedly not want to lose Pickford, should an offer come in worth around £50 million for his services, it might just be in their best interest to part ways with the England international.

Especially if they can pick up Pope for a fifth of that price.
