Liverpool have joined Everton in the race to sign Ajax youngster David Neres in the summer, according to reports by the Mirror.
The young winger is currently one of the standout performers in Dutch football, with eight goals and 11 assists in 26 Eredivisie appearances to his name for Ajax this season.
Everton boss Marco Silva, according to the Mirror, is keen on luring the Brazilian to Goodison Park in the summer, and believes the assurances of first-team football should be enough to convince him into joining the Toffees.
Everton could face strong competition from other teams across Europe, however, with the likes of Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain also said to be in the race for the £40million rated ace.
The opportunity to play in the Champions League could also be a blow to Everton’s hopes of signing Neres.
Whilst there are no bids on the table yet for Neres, it remains unclear as to which side will win his signature this summer.
Liverpool look well stacked up in attack, and it could be argued that Everton are in more need of someone like Neres.
