Report: Liverpool interested in signing £50k-a-week PL ace

Liverpool are keen on signing Wolverhampton Wanderers defensive midfielder Ruben Neves in the summer, according to Portuguese outlet O’Jogo.

The Portuguese international has impressed for Wolves this season with four goals and three assists 34 appearances for Nuno Espírito Santo’s side.

The defensive midfielder is an integral part of a Wolves team who are vying for a top-seven finish this season, and he is undoubtedly one of their most important players.

The £50,000 a week [Spotrac] ace’s performances for Wolves this season have earned him many plaudits, and he is very highly regarded at Molineux.

According to the Portuguese outlet, Liverpool assistant coach Pep Lijnders is said to be one of his admirers, which could spark a move for the 10-capped Portugal international this summer.

Whilst his deal runs until 2023, prising Neves away from Wolves could cost Jurgen Klopp’s side a serious amount of cash.

An article on UEFA.com describes Neves as a defensive midfielder who is not afraid to go forward and prompt attacks, showing great maturity combined with accurate passing skills and coupled with his superb shooting ability, he should be a good fit at Anfield.
