Premier League table-toppers Liverpool are weighing up a surprise move for former Manchester United star Memphis Depay, having previously missed out on signing him when he joined the Red Devils four years ago.
Depay, however, failed to live up to expectations at Old Trafford under Louis van Gaal, after his move from PSV Eindhoven, only to leave after just 18 months later.
The forward has since gone on to star in the French top flight, and has scored six goals in 28 Ligue 1 appearances this term. According to the Mirror, Liverpool are now considering another move to bring Depay to Anfield, with the attacker now rated at £50m.
Zinedine Zidane’s Real Madrid side have shown interest Sadio Mane, with reports suggesting that the Frenchman could move for the former Southampton star this summer.
While the Reds would love to hold on to one of their prized assets, they might be powerless to prevent his exit, if Madrid come in with a substantial bid at the end of this season.
And Depay, now rated at £50m by the French club according to the Mirror, would be a wise replacement for Mane, should the Senegalese ace decide to push for a move at the end of the season.
