Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keeping an eye on Celta Vigo striker Maxi Gomez ahead of a potential summer swoop.
A report from the Daily Mail claims that the Premier League side are considering a move for the 22-year-old, who wants European football.
The forward has been in decent form this season, netting 11 goals across 29 top flight matches for Celta, and he is definitely someone Spurs could do with this summer.
His impressive performances and eye for goal have seen him likened to former Liverpool striker Luis Suarez in the past, and he is believed to have a £43.5 million release clause.
Celta Vigo are two points above the drop zone and relegation for the club would further boost Spurs’ chances of signing Gomez on the cheap.
The Uruguayan will be a smart signing for Spurs, especially since Vincent Janssen is likely to move on in the summer.
Aside from that fact, he could also be seen as a brilliant backup for Harry Kane, or even line up to partner the England international in attack.
Gomez should fit in well in the Premier League, and signing him would appease the Tottenham fans, having gone through the last two transfer windows without making a single signing.
