Sky Sports pundit urges West Ham to sign £30m Premier League hitman

Sky Sports pundit Charlie Nicholas has urged West Ham to make a move for Fulham forward Aleksandar Mitrovic, suggesting that he is the right kind of player for the club.

The former Newcastle United player has been linked with £30million move to West Ham, as reported in the Telegraph, and the Sky Sports pundit believes Mitrovic is one kind of a player the Hammers should splash the cash on.

Speaking on Soccer Saturday (Sky Sports News, April 13th, 13.25), Charlie Nicholas said:

“I don’t see why West Ham wouldn’t be interested in someone who is going to link up play, bringing your more creative players into the team.

“I think they need a little bit of freshness up front, definitely.

“I’ve liked watching West Ham at times this season, but they have to go and strengthen again.”

While Mitrovic would undoubtedly be a shrewd pieces of business for West Ham, getting the right kind of players to play around him would be another major job for Manuel Pellegrini.

Manuel Lanzini and Marko Arnautovic are the type of players who would thrive with Mitrovic in the Hammers attack, but whether the Austrian will still be at West Ham next season remains to be seen.

The Serbian possesses undeniable quality, however, and Pellegrini should not hesitate to bring the Fulham hitman to the London Stadium this summer.
