Crystal Palace appear to have been handed somewhat of a boost in their hopes of holding on to their star man Wilfried Zaha, despite reports linking him with a move away from Selhurst Park.
According to Sky Sports, Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund made inquiries about the possibility of signing the Ivorian winger during the January transfer window, having identified him as a potential replacement for Christian Pulisic, who is line to join Chelsea in the summer.
Aside from reported interest from the Bundesliga side, Zaha has also been the subject of interest from the top-six clubs, with Manchester United believed to be the front-runners in the race to sign their former player.
Zaha joined Manchester United as former boss Sir Alex Ferguson’s final signing for the club, although he failed to live up to expectations and was shown the exit door two years later.
Zaha, however, has rejuvenated his career at Crystal Palace with a series of scintillating performances, and has chalked up eight goals and three assists in 28 Premier League appearances so far this season.
His performances have led to many clubs submitting interest in his services, but Zaha insists that his future remains very much at Selhurst Park.
He said:
“My future is at Palace. I am at Palace, I am not thinking about anything [else]. I’m just playing my football and I will just see what the future holds for me.”
The Ivorian signed a new contract with the Eagles last August that would extend his stay at the club until 2023, and reports last summer claimed the South London wanted nothing less than £70m for his signature.
