Manchester United are reportedly set to launch a £25m fee to sign Newcastle United midfielder Sean Longstaff this transfer window.
After their disappointing 2018/19 season that saw them missed out on Champions League qualification and ended the season empty-handed, the Manchester club are expected to make huge changes this summer.
As reported by Sky Sports, the Red Devils are said to be closing in on the signing of Swansea City youngster Daniel James for a reported fee of around £15m.
Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is looking to put together a team for the future and wants better and skilled youngster joining his squad ahead of next season as the Evening Standard report that the Red Devils are eyeing a £25m bid for Longstaff.
Longstaff, 21, has three goals and six assists from 26 appearances for Newcastle United this past season, which has attracted interest from Manchester United.
While the youngster will embrace plying his trade with a top side in the league, it remains to be seen whether the Manchester club’s £25m will be enough to lure him away from St James’ Park.
Ander Herrera has left the Old Trafford club this summer on a free transfer and Man United would need someone to replace the Spanish international.
