Costa Rican news outlet Plaza Deportiva are reporting that Arsenal are keen on a summer deal for Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas as they seek a replacement for the departing Petr Cech.
There are also reports that Valencia and Brazilian goalkeeper Neto is on the Gunners’ radar as manager Unai Emery seeks quality cover and competition for Bernd Leno.
Navas played his last game for Real Madrid during their 2-0 home defeat to Real Betis, with new Los Blancos boss Zinedine Zidane ready to work with former Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois and Luiz Zidane as his choices between the sticks next season.
Navas, however, has three Champions League and one La Liga title to his name with Madrid during his five-year stay at Santiago Bernabeu, and he would be an excellent addition to Arsenal given his extensive experience.
While the Gunners have Leno as first-choice in goal, it remains to be seen whether the Costa Rican goalkeeper will be keen on playing second fiddle at The Emirates Stadium.
The Europa League final against Chelsea later this month will be Petr Cech’s last game for the Gunners. As a professional player, and given the former Chelsea man has been helpful in goal for Arsenal since joining the club, signing a quality replacement of his quality should be high on the north London side’s priority list.
