Arsenal plotting £4m move for South-American star – reports

As reported by the Daily Mirror, Premier League giants Arsenal F.C. have been offered the chance to Colombian and FC Basel centre-back Eder Balanta.

Arsenal, according to reports, have around £45million to spend this summer for reinforcements after they missed out on qualification for the Champions League.

With such a low budget, Balanta would be an attractive option for the North London club as they would want to break into the four next season.

Balanta has just one year left to run on his current deal with FC Basel and the Mirror claims he would available for just £4m.

The club’s defeat in the Europa League heavily had an impact on their transfer plans, with Emery reportedly now have a very low £40m to work on rebuilding the core of his team this summer as against next season.

When asked whether Arsenal’s miss will affect his summer plans, Emery said:

“Maybe, but I think we are a big team and I think Arsenal are a big name in the football world.

“A lot of players want to play here. I don’t know for the next year but the club is working and we will do our way.”

Also asked, as quoted via the Daily Mirror, on whether there would be big changes to his squad after the abject defeat to Chelsea

He added:

“It is not the moment to speak about that. We need to analyse, speak to the players and the club.

“Our idea is to carry on with the same team and improve, and maybe some players need to leave to take a new way.

“We need the same idea and maybe add some new players to give us a situation to improve.

“I am proud of our work, I think the players did all they can in the possibility to reach our target.”
