The duo of Chelsea and Manchester United target Elseid Hysaj has confirmed his intention to leave Serie A giants Napoli this summer.
According to talkSPORT, the 25-year-old has state his desire to leave the Serie A club amidst reports he wants “to win something” in his career.
Hysaj has made well over 150 appearances for Napoli since joining the club back in the summer of 2015, establishing himself as one of Maurizio Sarri’s first-team fold and star performers during the Italian’s gaffer tenure in charge.
However, since Sarri’s departure to Chelsea last summer, Hysaj has become more of a fringe player under new boss Carlo Ancelotti and thus wants to pursue a a new move away in the close season.
He said to DigitAlb as quoted by talkSPORT:
“I’m absolutely ready for a new challenge because I need change.
“I’m not the type of person who likes to stay at a club for too long.
“I want to have new experiences, learn about a new country, meet new people, play for another team and maybe try to win something.
“For me, my time at Napoli is over and I hope to find a team that will give me what I need.”
Hysaj’s revelation will alert some of Europe’s top suitors, with Juventus and Atletico Madrid reportedly among those interested in his client’s signature.
His agent, Mario Giuffredi, however, believes Juventus is an option for his agent, especially amidst reports Chelsea boss is on the verge of joining the Old Lady.
He told Radio CRC:
“I think Sarri will go to Juventus and which player wouldn’t like to follow the Coach who made him show more than the others?”
