Leicester set to battle Man Utd for Chelsea-owned right-back with 89% pass acc

Leicester City, according to The Sun, are reportedly set to battle Manchester United in the race to sign Chelsea loan star Reece James.

The England U20 international was one of the shining star in the Championship this season with three goals and recording five assists to his name from 45 appearances for Wigan Athletic this past season.

Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers is said to be a huge fan of the right-back and believes that he is rising midfield talent. James is versatile player who, despite being a right-back, can also be deployed as a centre-back.

However, with Maurizio Sarri’s Chelsea team going to experience returning of many on-loan talents abroad, it can be argued James time with the Europa League winners is not which could spark yet another loan move to a direct rival club.

James should ideally push for another loan spell, ideally to a Premier League club or at least to a team which plays in one of Europe’s top five Leagues.

Leicester would be a good option for James, who had 72.3% pass success percentage last season for Wigan, if he’s to ditch interest from Man United.
