According to reports, Manchester United are reportedly set to launch bid to hijack the transfer of Aston Villa midfielder John McGinn.
McGinn has been a standout performer for the Championship side, though that in the Championship last season as he helped his side secure a return to the top-flight last season.
The 24-year-old had previously plied his trade for Hibernian in the Scottish Premiership, but that’s still a long way off the level of the English top flight.
Still, the Red Devils have made some background checks on his performances and are convinced he would be a top prospect in the Premier League, according to The Sun.
However, his move to the Premier League would not come cheap, as report states Villa want as much as £50million if they are to part ways with the player they signed for just £2.75m a year ago.
McGinn does look to have quality and ideal option for the club, but he isn’t surely worth the reported money based on his performances just yet.
Manchester United, on the other hand, seem to have changed their transfer strategy this summer, but many would surely feel this is a step too far in a bid to unearth up-and-coming British talent.
