Chelsea scout Piet de Visser, according to reports, says the club should try to sign Nathan Ake back from Premier League side AFC Bournemouth.
The Netherlands international has been in top form for Eddie Howe’s side since his £20million move from the Stamford Bridge back in the summer of 2017.
While he predominantly plays as a central defender, Ake has also been deployed as a left back and he has been a regular starter in the Cherries’ backline.
His impressive performance at the heart of defence has seen him won all of the club’s individual awards in his first season at the club and impressed again in 2018/19.
Now, speaking ahead of his side Champions League trip to Ajax, De Visser feels Ake’s return to Chelsea would fit perfectly into Frank Lampard’s young team.
De Visser told Dutch newspaper De Volkskrant:
“Ake should have played for Chelsea by now. He’s so good.”
“How often does he not score with his head? He has timing and insight. I hope they buy him back. That boy is perfect for them and he has played with Lampard.”
The ball-playing centre-back did register 17 matches in all competitions for the Blues’ first-team, collecting both a League Cup and Europa League winners’ medal.
However, due to a lack of game time under Antonio Conte, Ake opted to secure a move away from Stamford Bridge to AFC Bournemouth permanent.
