Premier League outfits Norwich City have slapped a mouth-watering asking price on 21-year-old centre-back Ben Godfrey amidst reported interest from North London duo Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, according to The Athletic.
Despite Norwich City’s struggles this season, Godfrey has impressed in the top flight and his performance for the Canaries at the heart of defence have not gone unnoticed.
The 21-year-old is also being closely watched by Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund and Ligue 1 heavyweights Olympique Lyonnais who ready to lock horns over his signature.
Norwich City are aware of the rising interest in the youngster and his exit from Carrow Road would not come cheap.
It has been claimed according to Arsenal Blogs that the Canaries want a fee in the region of £50m from any of his suitors.
Norwich have taken note of the rising transfer fees of defenders and have accordingly set out their stall for the 21-year-old.
Godfrey is currently the captain of the England Under-21s and is widely expected to make the step up into the senior team under Gareth Southgate soon.
Norwich believe Godfrey, who has amassed 1,400 minutes in the top flight for Norwich this season, has all the attributes needed to develop into an elite defender and are keen to get the best price possible if they lose him in the near future.
